Cats Cats Cats!
Charlie, our featured feline in the Cat Gallery, resided at the Wild Birds Unlimited Store in Springfield, Missouri until his death in 2005. He was a very large cat, tipping the scales at 32 pounds of gentleness and love. Sometimes Squeaky would provoke Charlie by his playfulness, but such antics would be quickly subdued by Charlie's giant paw. Charlie would then return to his cat bed to nap, and lesson learned, Squeaky would likewise return to his basket by the cash register.
Charlie knew that in the doctor's office a few doors away, there was catnip growing, and sometimes he would slip out the door as a customer came into the store, then make his way to the doctor's office to enjoy his favorite plant. Everybody knew Charlie and accommodated him without question by opening doors that stood in his way when he wanted to go visiting. After a while he would meander back to his own store... happy to be home again.
And of course, Sentry, who is a devil to the squirrels. Try as they might to steal the bird food from the feeders, ever-present Sentry bats at them a discouraging paw....it seems the birds have accepted him and he them, eyeing each other with mutual respectfulness.
