KEZIAH ORIGINALS GALLERIES

The photographic prints displayed in our galleries have been captured and reproduced using the latest techniques in digital imaging photography. Through state of the art technology, the creative world of photography has evolved to new heights, permanently raising the bar of excellence. Digital darkroom techniques, utilizing Adobe's Photoshop CS3, Nikon cameras and lenses, and Epson's printers and Ultrachrome pigment inks, have refined and infinitely increased the "possibilities" in Fine Art Photographic Imaging and Printing.

I want to extend my personal thanks to the George Lepp Institute of Digital Imaging, and especially to Tim Grey, for his fine instruction in the application of these revolutionary techniques in the field of photography.

I also want to thank Tim Ernst, Arkansas' Wilderness Photographer. I recently attended one of his workshops, which included photo excursions into the Buffalo River National Scenic Waterway. Tim is a great photographer and inspiring instructor.

About Us

Photography has been Jim's avocation for most of his life. His profession is dentistry and, like photography, he was initially attracted to it because of the artistic expression which it allows. The photo galleries on our website are a combination of the natural beauty of the world in which we live, and Jim's ability to capture the 'scene' with his finely tuned sense of esthetic intuition.

Jim and I live in Springfield, Missouri, Queen City of the Ozarks (as it is fondly called here). It is a photographer's wonderland with four beautiful seasons, providing a year round color palate for artists of all mediums.

And to introduce myself, I am Carol, Jim's wife and partner for many years. We have worked together in our dental practice, as dentist/dental hygienist team, for nearly thirty-three years. We also share enthusiasm for art, each in our unique ways. Our desire to share our love of beauty and art with others has given birth to the 'Keziah Originals Website'.

The medium for my own artistic expression is creating leather-tooled art. Every piece begins with an inner-vision, an inspiring idea, then flows through several processes, bringing it into form. Jim's digital images (or, occassionally my own captured with my trusty Pentax) offer wonderful variety for my leather-tooling projects. Our business name, KEZIAH ORIGINALS, derives from the name and face of a woman that we have never met. Keziah, the wife of an Irish immigrant to America in the early nineteenth century. She and her husband came by boat, and during the trip, Keziah, only seventeen years old and a newlywed, became ill, and died two weeks after arriving in this country. Had she lived, she would have been my great-great grandmother. To honor those among us whose lives explode into blossom and then are quickly gone, leaving only the love that endures forever, we dedicate with respect the name KEZIAH.
